Jarred grew up in Gridley, CA playing multiple sports, primarily baseball and basketball, where he was given the opportunity to find his passion for athletics and fitness. In his time away from Basis he spends his hours coaching youth sports, as well as enjoys camping and being around his family. From a young age, he was taught the importance of giving 100% effort in whatever he pursued, even if he was not the most talented. This level of ambition and drive is what Jarred brings to the gym when it comes to his clients, knowing that patience and understanding comes with reaching certain goals. His favorite class to take at Basis is the VO2 Max class, as it challenges him not just physically, but mentally as well. Lastly, a piece of advice that he would give the world is, “Greatness can’t be achieved overnight, the world will beat you down and try to get you to quit, but with the right mindset anyone can overcome the grind and achieve their goals.

To Andre, the strong association between physical health, work capacity, and human well-being is scientifically, anecdotally, and intuitively clear. Beyond this, a multiplicity of particular benefits created and have sustained his interest in training himself and others. As a youth, he ran & lifted weights, played basketball, Kung-fu, football, wrestling, and track & field. As an adult, Andre competed in CrossFit, performing in the top 0.2% of men worldwide in 2017. Now, he embraces the insights of Functional Range Systems, and so spends half his time doing 'internal model' training and, for now, most of the other half enjoying multi-modal conditioning.
Superpower: philosophical analysis and exercise technique at high intensity (sometimes simultaneously)
Favorite Class at Basis: VO2 Max
Advice: With respect to one's beliefs, acknowledge and admit (to oneself and where appropriate to others) uncertainty where there is in fact any. Then, while rigorously reducing uncertainty, do not completely reject any conceivable possibility with respect to the issue. Finally, simply "leave room" for the possibility one still may be confused about something integral to the issue. He has found this to minimize inaccurate thought, and therefore a significant subset of ultimately misleading and/or damaging action, especially in cases where such damage would have been unintuitive to anticipate.

Parker is a full-time coach/trainer that began his education in Kinesiology at Sonoma State, where he committed himself in the weight room to becoming the best basketball player he could be. His interest in plyometrics, strength training, and healing still remain as pillars of his identity, and he strives to be the guiding force behind others’ health and fitness journeys. Parker’s main mission is to provide an educational, appropriately challenging, and joyful experience to everyone who walks into the gym.
When he’s not pumping iron or playing basketball, Parker enjoys backpacking in the mountains, laughing at stand-up comedy, playing Jeopardy in the evenings, and dancing when the time is right.
