Pause
The importance of pause is something we often lose sight of. Life moves fast—days blur together, and before we know it, months and years have seemingly zoomed by.
It’s easy to get swept up in the current of daily responsibilities, endless to-do lists, and the never-ending demands of life. Mix that in with some poor nutrition, doom-scrolling, and night after night of poor sleep, and BAM— you have a recipe for frustration, stagnation, helplessness, and even resentment.
What if we pause?
I want to offer you something that has helped me tremendously over the last 12 months: a simple daily check-in a moment of pause.
Take a moment each day to answer these two questions:
What is the most important thing I will do today?
What do I deeply appreciate about my current circumstances?
This isn’t just about reflection—it’s a reframe. A shift toward clarity and appreciation.
Maybe you’re not where you want to be right now. That’s okay. That can change. But it starts with how you see things. A shift in perception leads to making the decisions that align with what’s most important to you.
When you ask yourself these questions, your answers will reveal more than just a to-do list. They will show you what truly matters to you, what you value, and the qualities you want to embody. They will give you insight into the life you are creating with your decision: intentionally or unintentionally
Clarity isn’t found in the chaos—it’s found in the moments you choose to step back, reflect, and realign.
Personally, my life fundamentally changed when I started asking myself these questions- I’m a better husband, father, employer, business owner and human. Doing things that were once difficult are now frictionless. Spending time helping folks apply some of these ideas to their life is exactly how I want to spend my time. If thats something you want to do, let’s grab coffee— it’s on me!
