The Truth about Group Training

Im an enthusiast of meaning conversations. In fact, the more I have, the more I believe I am successful at my job.

I had one of these conversations with a friend and Basis Client about 4 months ago. We were sharing about goals, how basis has changed since we opened in 2018 & our visions for the future. For me, this meant sharing a lot of the Why behind the Basis evolution— Basis is doing everything we set out for it to do…when we opened 8 years ago.

We’ve done our best within the framework of group training. We’ve made real progress. And at the same time, we’ve also seen the limits… And in the middle of that discussion, I had an epiphany.

It’s something I’ve always known but hadn’t quite put into words: Group classes won’t address individual problems.

This realization is simple, but it has massive implications. No matter how well-designed the programming is—no matter how strategic the warm-ups, how thoughtful the cool-downs, or how structured the workouts—you can’t solve a specific issue with a non-specific exercise intervention.

“My Back hurts”— try a group class. “My shoulder is cranky”—try a group class. “I’m not motivated”— try a group class. “I just need accountability”-- try a group class.

Don’t get me wrong. Our group training is the cornerstone of our community. But we believe…

You deserve more.
Your goals & outcomes should not be a matter of IF but of WHEN. To remove the guesswork. Make it inevitable not just a possibility.

For the longest time, we didn’t have a structured system in place to assess and create personalized plans that address individual movement limitations, pain points, and long-term goals.

That’s changing. And it’s exciting.

We’ve built an Assessment that covers it all—designed to evolve alongside the needs of our community. It’s not about “fixing” anyone; it’s about understanding each person better so we can support them in a way that actually works.

We use that assessment to get clarity on exactly who you are, what you do and what you hope to do with your body…Then we

This Is for You If...

  • You’ve been dealing with persistent aches and pains.

  • You have a specific goal but aren’t sure if it’s possible.

  • You want to feel stronger, more capable, and more in control of your health.

  • You want to better understand your current physical abilities

We believe that our community is more than just good vibes and solid workouts. It’s also a supportive & inspiring place where outcomes happen.
